Fed: New leadership team needed - Rudd
CANBERRA, Dec 1 AAP - Labor frontbencher Kevin Rudd says he is running for the party's
top job because a new style of leadership is needed to win next year's federal election.
Mr Rudd, Labor's foreign affairs spokesman, has confirmed he will challenge Kim Beazley
on Monday for the party's leadership, with health spokeswoman Julia Gillard running for
the deputy leader's position.
"The judgment that I have formed is that this is the most important election for Labor
in a generation," Mr Rudd told reporters.
